It's the weekly "what to watch" segment here on the Miller and Brinson page. Enjoy!
11 AM - Iowa State @ Oklahoma State - FX
The Cowboys are looking for payback from a year ago, when ISU cost them a shot at the national title. This year's version of OSU is not quite what it was a year ago, but they can still score, racking up nearly 50 PPG. If you're not a Clone fan, the SEC early game featuring LSU and Texas A&M has a shot to be pretty good on ESPN.
2:30 PM - Nebraska @ Northwestern - ABC
It's two teams that figure to play a role in Iowa's postseason plans, so that's why it gets the slight nod over South Carolina @ Florida on CBS. Nebraska's offense looks healthy this year, but their defense just isn't what it used to be. Northwestern, on the other hand, might be the biggest surprise so far in the Big Ten at 6-1. However, the next four games will tell the tale for Pat Fitzgerald and co: this week vs. Nebraska, followed by Iowa, Michigan, and MSU. Texas Tech vs. TCU is also an option here during commerical breaks.
6 PM - K-State @ West Virginia - FOX
Two of the nation's elite QB's will tangle in Morgantown on Saturday night. There's no player more valuable to his team than K-State's Colin Klein, and WVU's Geno Smith will soon be making big paychecks on Sundays. WVU's title hopes took a big hit with the loss to Texas Tech last week, and if they have a prayer, they'll need to win at home vs. K-State. If the Wildcats can pull out a victory, look out. Alabama vs. Tennessee on ESPN also looks good in this time slot.
7 PM - Penn State @ Iowa - BTN
It's Iowa's only primetime game this season, and while most Hawk fans penciled this one into the win column early this season, don't be so sure. Bill O'Brien has done an incredible job this year considering the circustances, and having watched Iowa the last two weeks, this has a chance to be a pretty good game.
9:30 PM - Utah @ Oregon State - ESPN 2
Mike Riley has done a great job this season at Oregon State, where many people though he might be in trouble. They lost their starting QB to injury, and haven't missed a beat on offense. The Utes just don't seem to quite be there yet after joining the Pac-12 a year ago. Should make for an entertaining late game.
Have a great weekend!
