And what a game it was. 32 years ago today: February 22, 1980.
Remember hearing after the game it was like an NCAA football team upsetting the Superbowl champion Steelers. Whenever you see one of those "top upsets" or "most iconic moments" in sports type shows, this one is always right near the top.
Al Michaels has had a lot of great calls and great moments over the course of his career, but his call at the end of the game will probably go down as his most famous:
During the first hour of the show, we had Troy Dannen on to talk the future of the Big Four basketball games.
While there were a few things that are still up in air, it sure sounds like the traditional home-and-home matchups we've seen in the past are just that...a thing of the past.
We do know Wells Fargo Arena has reserved a variety of dates next December for a potential one day event featuring a double-header involving Drake, UNI, ISU, and Iowa. When it will happen and the details are yet to be announced.
At least at this point, Troy told us the Panthers have one game scheduled in Des Moines for next year...and that's at the Knapp Center against Drake. Our best guess is that could change sooner rather than later.

A lot of basketball talk on today's show, but it is officially the start of spring training for many clubs. Most pitchers and catchers reported yesterday and had their first official workouts today.

Obviously, Albert Pujols leaving will be the main story in St. Louis, but there are some other interesting story lines. How will Adam Wainwright rebound from Tommy John surgery? Can Lance Berkman repeat his 2011 performance? Will Carlos Beltran's knees hold up for the entire season?
I think Beltran still has plenty left in the tank, but the injuries are well documented.
