Nebraska To Honor 1997 Championship Team With Mesh Throwback Uniforms

Young college football fans might find this a bit hard to believe but there was a time not too long ago when the Nebraska Cornhuskers were the preeminent program in the nation.

While these days you’re more likely to find them playing in the Capital One Bowl, Holiday Bowl or Foster Farms Bowl, the Huskers were a mainstay in the national title picture for the better part of the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. The program was perhaps never better than their run from 1993 to 1997 when they won three national titles and finished ranked in the top three in four of the five seasons.
